Illinois State Fair
General Project Changes for 2009
All 4-H General Projects will be conference judged (member will be present) on McLean County Day, August 15.
Due to low exhibit numbers, certain projects will ONLY be judged on one or two days. These projects include the following:
Bicycle Rodeo (Section IV) – Saturday, August 22
Electronics (Section V) – Saturday, August 22
Geospatial (Section VI) – Saturday, August 22
The 4-Her and their family will be responsible for transportation of the exhibit to and from the fair.
Exhibits must remain on display for a specific time during the day – 8:00 a.m. to noon for morning judged projects and 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. for afternoon-judged projects. Again, the Exposition Building times will be one hour later for check-in and release of exhibits (9:00 a.m – 1:00 p.m. and 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.) You should plan to pick up your exhibit at the end of your display time. Projects that are left after their assigned pick-up time may be moved to make room for other exhibits or for security purposes. However, the State Fair is not responsible for exhibits left after their display time and security is not provided after 4:30 p.m. (5:30 p.m. at the Exposition Building.)
Judges will not be expected to complete judging sheets on each project - if a youth wants a judging sheet to write down what the judge says, they may request a copy to do so.
