Illinois 4-H/FFA State Tractor Operator's Contest
Contest Information
University of Illinois Extension – McLean Countyhosts the State 4-H Tractor Driving Contest.
This event will be held during the McLean County 4-H Fair on Saturday, August 1, at the Interstate Center, 2301 W. Market St., Bloomington, IL.
Each county will be limited to one 4-H entry and each FFA chapter will be limited to one FFA entry.
Pre-reservation is required. County 4-H/FFA Advisors should complete the online form by July 25, 2009.
Participants must be at least 14 years of age as of January 1, 2009.
A $15 registration fee, by check or funds transfer, is required.
Premiums (provided 10 or more participate) will be 1st Place:$40, 2nd Place:$30, 3rd Place:20, 4th Place:$10, 5th Place:$10.
Registration will begin at 8:30AM.
The contest will begin at 9AM.

The top two 4-H participants will represent Illinois at the National 4-H Tractor Operator's Contest as a part of the National 4-H Engineering, Science and Leadership Event held at Purdue University. Information about the National contest is available at http://www.four-h.purdue.edu/downloads/naengr/pdf/nateng.pdf?#page=61. While the state contest is not identical to the National contest, this information will be helpful in preparing for the state contest. Also, you may find the 2009 packet helpful as well.
Congratulations to Mason Dehlinger, representing Richland County 4-H, winner of the Illinois 4-H/FFA State Tractor Operator's Contest. Mason and Patrick Sheridan of Randolph County 4-H represented Illinois at the National Contest at Purdue University. Mason placed FIRST NATIONALLY, and Patrick placed FIFTH NATIONALLY out of thirteen participants!
