Go to the youth development section and click on "forms and downloads."
Use the quick link for awards and recognition or scroll down to that section.
Select the record sheet you want with the "fillable pdf" option.
Download that record to your computer. On a windows machine, right click on the "fillable pdf" option and select "save target as." A download window should open. The "file name" option should be highlighted at the lower part of the box. Type in where you want to save the file. An easy way to save it so you'll know where it is would be to save it to your desktop and put in a folder after you've downloaded it. To save to the desktop, look at the top of the download window. Where it says "save in" you want it to say desktop. If it doesn't already say that, click on the down arrow directly to the right of the box. A list of files should appear. One of those should be desktop. Select that option.
Once you've given the file a name and told where you want it saved to, click save. The file should begin downloading.
Now you're ready to begin filling out the record. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat to complete the form. If you don't have the program, go to www.adobe.com. Acrobat Reader is a free program. Follow the instructions to download it onto your computer. Note: You can only save your file after you fill it out if you have Adobe Acrobat. You can complete the form with Acrobat Reader, but you won't be able to save it to change later.
Open Acrobat Reader and open the record you downloaded. After it's open you can begin completing the record. As you move your mouse over the form, you'll notice the curser change from a hand to an actual curser. You can type anywhere the curser appears. Use your tab key to move between sections. If you have Adobe Acrobat, be sure to save your work in a place where you can find it later. If you have Acrobat Reader, print the page before closing the file to be sure it looks like you want. When the record is completely done, simply print it and put in your record book.
By having "fillable" records available on-line, you can keep your records up-to-date and make changes easier throughout the year. No more excuses that you didn't have time to get them done...unless you wait until the last minute to start.
