Way To Grow!
Designed to bring agriculture to 4th grade students in McLean County schools, Way To Grow! is a hands-on project involving students in the production of vegetables with edible roots. Students make predictions, observe and measure growth of roots and foliage and explore variables designed by their class.
Often paired with the new Ag In Space program, Way To Grow! is free to teachers in McLean County, and participating students receive a Way To Grow! t-shirt. Teachers receive a vegetable growing chamber, student activity books and lesson plans. The program is available in April and May of each school year.
Way To Grow! is underwritten by the generous support of the University of Illinois Extension, McLean County and the McLean County Farm Bureau.
