Chick It Out
The McLean County "Chick It Out" program is a 4-H Program designed to give third grade students a general awareness and understanding of the science aspects of chick hatching. It involves students in a hands-on experiment in the growth and development of "new life" as the project goes from a fertile egg to a hatched chick. The students will be introduced to the thrill of the hatch and possibly the disappointment associated with the loss of life, but in either case, they will gain an understanding of the hows and whys associated with embryology.
