4-H members (to include special interest group members) in their second year and beyond must attend a minimum of four club/group meetings in order to show in the McHenry County 4-H show. 4-H members in their first year of membership must attend one-third of club/group meetings after registration in order to show in the McHenry County 4-H show. June 9 Last day for Horse Quality Assurance & Ethics

June 23 Livestock State Fair Entries due to Extension Office

July 1 Last day for all Livestock Quality Assurance & Ethics

July 28-Aug 2 State Fair Horse Show

August 15 McHenry County Day at State Fair

August 22 Bicycle Rodeo, Electronics, and Geospatial at State Fair

State Fair Entry Fees

All junior exhibitors will need to pay entry fees for any/all animals entered. Fees will be due with class entries to the Extension Office on June 1 for horses, June 23 for all other livestock, and July 27 for Dogs.

Beef, Dairy, Horses $10.00 per head

Sheep, Swine, Goats $2.50 per head

Dogs $2.00 per head

Poultry, Rabbits $1.00 per head

State Fair Book

The Illinois State Fair Book will be found on line at http://www.illinoisstatefair.info/. All rules and regulations along with entry forms will be found on the site.

When the site opens McHenry county will have a link from our web site to Illinois State Fair Web page.

Premises Identification

Premise Identification numbers will be required for all Junior Department Barrow entries to the Illinois State Fair.

Calling All 4-H Members……... With a Love for Food!!!

McHenry County 4-H is holding it's second annual Food Bowl this June. This will be a fun filled evening, quizzing your knowledge on food, nutrition and cooking techniques. It is a great way to extend your knowledge from what you have learned from your cooking project books, and an even better way to make new 4-H friends. There are prizes for the top three teams and individuals who compete. It is open to all 4-hers in McHenry County. If you are looking for a fun evening watch for the next newsletter for the day and time.

Did you know during the 2008 McHenry County Fair the 4-H Foodstand sold 719 slices of Rosati's Pizza?

Did you know during the 2008 McHenry County Fair the 4-H Foodstand sold 1826 bottles of pop and Gatorade?

Did you know 100% of the 4-H Foodstand profits go to the 4-H Foundation to help pay for things such

as trophies, ribbons, judges, clinics, and more?

Did you know the planning process for the 4-H Foodstand begins the January before the McHenry County Fair?

Did you know the 4-H Foodstand is always looking for extra volunteers and sometimes equipment?
