McDonough County Master Gardeners are trained to provide home horticultural information to the residents of the county. Master Gardeners complete a 12 week training program and in return volunteer 30 hours a year to the University of Illinois Extension. Volunteer projects include hosting Gardeners Day in March, staffing office hours weekly throughout the growing season and assisting a variety of community agencies.
