... by hiring a Community and Economic Development Educator as a consultant. Efforts are being made to provide the residents of Mason County an oppor-tunity to capitalize on local tourism. With a monetary contribution from the city of Havana, Mason County Extension began the process of assessing and compiling the needs of the county in 2006.

Mason County Extension is committed to enhancing local tourism and providing leadership CED education for its citizens. 2007 will see Mason Extension developing programs from the 2006 needs assessment.

... (Manito Area Resource and Economic Development) is an organization identifying and helping to secure infrastructure for that community. Mason County Extension has been instrumental in helping Manito achieve state recognition for a community award and is working closely with MARED in obtaining state funding for the restructuring and upgrading of the main highway in the community.
