Families are invited to gather at Riverfront Park in Havana on Tuesday, May 5 to take part in a Family Walk Day event in observance of National Walk Month. The event is open to all ages and will begin at 3:30 p.m.
Various activities will be offered at different stations around the park. Both kids and adults will have a chance to join the fun with hula hoops, jump roping, fun dances and walking. Bottled water and healthy snacks will also be provided at various locations.
Participants may sign-up to be eligible for prizes that will be given away at the conclusion of the event. The drawing for the prizes will be held promptly at 4:30 p.m. Winners are required to be present to win.
Designed to offer families an afternoon of fun, fitness and fellowship with others while taking advantage of a great chance to get some exercise, the walk day event is co-sponsored by Mason County Extension and Havana Early Childhood Council. In case of bad weather, the event will be moved to the Park District Gym.
