GENERAL CLOTHING RULES

1. All enrolled in Sewing & Textiles I, II, III, and Clothing Decisions/Buying Your Clothes will be judged at the M-P Extension Office prior to the 4-H Show.

2. After completion of judging, garments will be kept at the Extension Office. The Clothing committee will be responsible for the transportation and the display of the clothing projects at the 4-H Show. 3. Members wishing to exhibit at the Marshall-Putnam County Fair may check garments out from the office any time during office hours prior to the county check in deadline. Members are responsible for returning the garments to the 4-H Show for display.

4. Bring all garments on hangers, covered in clear plastic. Include pattern used to construct garment at time of judging. Bring accessories to flatter the garment(s)

5. Bring all non-clothing constructed articles covered in clear plastic and on hangers if possible. If a pattern was used bring it also.

6. Bring a good quality photo, 3x5 or 4x6, of the exhibitor wearing the garment for both constructed and purchased garments. If the garment was constructed or purchased for another person, bring a photo of that person wearing the garment. If the project is a non-wearable item, bring a photo of the 4-Her holding the item. Photos will remain with the project for use organizing the style revue and display at the Show.

7. 4-Hers must be present for interview judging to be eligible for ribbons, premiums, awards and/or State Fair honors.

8. In all classes, both purchased and constructed garments will be evaluated on the member, in addition to the conference with the judge. Construction and appearance will both be considered. Garments constructed for another person are eligible for exhibiting in classes #2602, 2604, 2606 and 2607; HOWEVER, the individual for which the garment was constructed must be present for judging and will need to wear the garment.

9. All exhibitors must complete a Style Revue Form for Clothing & Textiles judging for each project being judged. If registered in more than one Clothing & Textiles project, a Style Revue form must be filled out for each project, indicating on the form which project will not be modeled. The Clothing Revue Form should be a narrative the Fashion Board will use during the Style Revue. Include your hobbies, club, and other interests you may have. Use form at the end of the 4-H Show book. Additional paper may be used if needed. If you do not complete this form you may be lowered one ribbon color.

10. Classes #2601, 2602, 2604, 2606, and 2607 will be evaluated on construction and/or buying experience and the appearance of the garment on the individual. Classes #2603 and #2605 will be evaluated on construction. Classes #2609 and 2610 will focus first on the quality of the display and indepth study done to complete the activity. Then it will focus on how the purchased garment relates to the activity.

11. Posters are limited to a maximum size of 22" x 30".

12. The Style Revue will be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Marshall-Putnam Fairgrounds on the first day of the 4-H Show.
