Goats Department

DEPARTMENT G - GOATS

State Fair - Any 4-H'er, 10 years of age by September 1 of current 4-H year or over may enter.

GENERAL GOAT RULES

1. Each exhibitor is limited to two entries in each class.

2. No male goats will be permitted on grounds.

3. Doe's that are nursing, with male kids that are under the age of three months old will be permitted.

4. Junior Champion Doe will be chosen from Dairy/Market/Pygmy Goats (Unregistered and Registered)

5. Senior Champion Doe will be chosen from Dairy/Market/Pygmy Goats (Unregistered and Registered)

6. Grand Champion Doe will be chosen from Dairy/Market/Pygmy Goats (Unregistered and Registered)

7. Champion Pygmy Wether will be chosen from Unregistered and Registered Pygmy Wethers.

8. All goats must have current health papers, tattoos and/or ear tags.

DAIRY GOAT CLASSES

301 Wether under 6 months.

302 Wether over 6 months, but under one year.

303 Wether over one year.

304 Baby Dairy Goat Doe kid under 3 months

305 Doe kids 3 months to under 6 months.

306 Doe kids 6 months to under 9 months.

307 Doe kids 9 months to under 12 months.

308 Unfreshened Doe 12 months to under 18

months (never kidded).

309 Unfreshened Doe 18 months to under 24

months (never kidded).

310 Senior Yearling Doe, under 24 months

311 Two year old Doe, 24 months to

under 36 months

312 Three year old Doe, 36 months to

under 48 months

313 Four year old Doe, 48 months and over

314 Milking Doe with Kids

UNREGISTERED PYGMY DOES

318 Baby Doe Kid under 3 months of age.

319 Doe Kid 3 months to under 6 months.

320 Doe Kid 6 months to under 9 months.

321 Doe Kid 9 months to under 12 months.

322 Unfreshened Doe 12 months to under 18

months (Never Kidded)

323 Unfreshened Doe 18 months to under 24

months (Never Kidded)

324 Senior yearling Doe under 24 months.

325 Two year old Doe, 24 months to

under 36 months.

326 Three year old Doe, 36 months to

under 48 months.

327 Four year old Doe, 48 months and over.

Senior Champion Doe will be picked from classes 324 - 327.

UNREGISTERED & REGISTERED PYGMY WETHER

328 Wether under 6 months.

329 Wether over 6 months, but under one year.

330 Wether over one year.

REGISTERED PYGMY DOES

331 Baby Doe Kid under 3 months of age.

332 Doe Kid 3 months to under 6 months.

333 Doe Kid 6 months to under 9 months.

334 Doe Kid 9 months to 12 months.

335 Unfreshened Doe 12 months to under 18

months (Never Kidded)

336 Unfreshened Doe 18 months to under 24

months (Never Kidded)

337 Senior Yearling Doe, under 24 months.

338 Two year old Doe, 24 months to

under 36 months.

339 Three year old Doe, 36 months to

under 48 months.

340 Four year old Doe, 48 months and over.

Senior champion Doe Reserve Champion Doe will be picked from classes 337 - 340.

MARKET GOAT CLASSES

341 Wether under six (6) months.

342 Wether over six (6) months.

343 Doe Kid 0 - 3 months.

344 Doe Kid 3 - 6 months.

345 Doe Kid 6 -9 months.

346 Doe Kid 9 - 12 months.

347 Yearling Doe 12 - 18 months.

348 Milking Doe twelve (12) months or older.

SHOWMANSHIP - Non-premium class

349 Open to any exhibitor in the Goat Department with the exception of the previous years winners. May not be won two-years consecutively.
