4-H Clubs

There are ten 4-H clubs throughout Marshall and Putnam counties. The clubs range in meeting locations, size, activites, types of projects and length of meetings. There is just the right club for everyone in Marshall-Putnam 4-H.

Hennepin

  • Hennepin Heroes
    meet in Hennepin at the Methodist Church. Contact Leader is Deb Ward.

Henry

  • Henry Guys & Gals
    meet at the Henry State Bank. Katie Grumbine is a pro at leading this club. She has 30+ years experience.

  • M-P Pony Express
    Status of club is pending. Please contact the local Extension office for complete details.

  • Saratoga Leadaways
    When asked about their 4-H club, members said some of the highlights are: Eating food together, the Christmas party and working together at the 4-H Show in the food stand as well as all the other fun stuff at the Show. Their favorite 4-H projects are Beef, Poultry, Visual Arts, Aerospace, Rabbits, Clothing (both sewing and modeling) and Horses. When asked "What is one thing that you think is special about Saratoga Leadaways?" their replies were: Roll Call. The awesome people in the club! Variety in projects. We are ridiculously good looking.

McNabb

  • P.C. Progressors
    members of P.C. Progressors come from throughout Putnam County. They meet at the McNabb Fire Station on the second Wednesday of each month from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Sparland

  • Steuben Rangers
    the largest club in Marshall-Putnam 4-H. Lots of project areas, parental involvement and span of ages represented. Currently meets the second Monday of each month (not in January and February) at the LaPrairie church in rural Sparland.

Toluca

  • Bennington Go-Getters

Varna

  • Bell Plain Hustlers
    The Bell Plain Hustlers meet at the Varna Community Center on the third Wednesday of each month. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. They are very family friendly. 4-Her, Mark Douglas Girone gives more insights into the club. TOP 10 REASONS TO BE A BELL PLAIN HUSTLER 10. Seeing what your fellow 4-Hers have accomplished by our own club Achievement Night. 9. What other 4-H club looks good in orange vests, while cleaning the roads? 8. Learning about the animals your friends have and raise. 7. Once a year you can get splattered in egg at our Annual Weiner Roast. 6. Improving public speaking skills through talks and demonstrations. 5. A family, friendly club. 4. Where-else are you going to find the best Christmas Pizza Party? 3. Our door is always open. 2. The only place Musical Chairs and Twister are considered cool and sports. 1. Once a 4-Her, always a 4-Her, no matter how old.
