Fall events and 'back to school' plans are beginning, and with that comes the Community Marketplace. On August 20, the Civic Center will once again house the Marketplace presented by the University of Illinois Extension and Decatur Area Labor Management and sponsored by WAND. The marketplace offers hundreds of job opportunities in the area, education and training services. Volunteer programs, social service agencies, health and insurance information and financial concerns are all addressed. The event is free and open to the public. Come and see what Macon County has to offer you.
If you look at life as a tent, do you know the importance of tent poles? When putting up the tent, the tent poles are hard to deal with, they are cumbersome and yet without them, there is no tent. The tent poles are there for support. They are the backbone of the tent. They are the foundation of the cover against the storm while camping. Tent poles are in your every day life as well. They are there propping you up when times are tough. Do you know who and what your tent poles are?
