Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program


EFNEP is a federally funded program that began in 1969. Staff from the neighborhood are trained to provide education to:

  • Families with young children
  • School-aged children

When you enroll.....

  • A staff member will come to your home/community agency.
  • Together you will choose 6 to 12 lessons to learn.
  • You can learn cooking skills.
  • You can learn to feed yourself and your family healthy meals and snacks.
  • You can learn to prepare and keep food safe.
  • You can learn to manage your food dollars.

When you achieve your goals you graduate and receive a certificate.

EFNEP partners with:

  • WIC
  • Food Stamp Offices
  • Child Care Centers
  • Schools
  • Community Centers
  • Churches
  • Head Start
  • Community Action
  • Commodity Food Distribution Sites
  • and many more organizations........
