Amy Griswold
Extension Educator, Family Life
As Extension Educator, Family Life, Amy Griswold provides program support in the area of family life, including interpersonal relationships, parenting, adult life and aging, and intergenerational programs. Her area of specialization is gerontology. She has co-authored numerous publications and lesson materials including Caregiving Relationships for Those Who Care for Adults, IntentionalHarmony, and Parenting Again.
Amy earned both her bachelors and masters degrees from Western Illinois University. She is a licensed master trainer for Taking Care of You: Powerful Tools for Caregivers, and educational class series for family caregivers.
Program Offerings
Caregiving Relationships for Those Who Care for Adults -A curriculum addressing relationship issues faced by families caring for adults. Can be presented as a workshop for agency staff or as individual topic presentations.
Powerful Tools for Caregiving -A six-week class series for caregivers of adults designed to help them take better care of themselves through recognizing and managing stress, learning communication skills and making action plans.
Child Care Provider Training - Workshops to provide continuing education hours for child care providers. Several topics available - call for more information.
Intentional Harmony - Managing Work and Family -A new curriculum designed to help working families. Can be presented as workplace education or as individual topics.
Stories From Your Past Legacy for the Future -A workshop on the importance of keeping family history and passing on family stories to the next generation.
Topics on aging issues - Several workshop topics of interest to older adults or agencies working with the aging population.
Strengthening Families - Curriculum to help families build relationship skills between parents and children.
