Basic Science/Conservation

  • DNA extraction/biotechnology 45-60 minutes

  • Home Composting (as arranged with variable times and session numbers)

Economics

  • Welcome To The Real World (simulation of careers and money management) 1-2 hours
  • A Job For Me (materials and/or training for resumes, interviews, etc.) 30-60 minutes each
  • Credit Card Smarts (handout series)

Grades 2-6

Science (Grades 3-6)

  • Pollen Detective (Wonderwise) 30-60 minutes
  • Rainforest Ecologist (Wonderwise) 30-60 minutes
  • DNA extraction from fruit/biotechnology 45-60 minutes
  • Environmental Awareness Series (can be tailored to needs with materials)
  • Embryology (specific to 3rd grade classes) (all materials for teaching and demonstrating)
  • Leaf Collections (instructions/assistance) 45 minutes
  • Insect Collections (instructions/assistance) 45 minutes
  • Jr. Master Gardeners (series of lessons-material cost may apply) 45 minutes each
  • GPS systems

Character/Diversity/Tolerance

  • Walk in My Shoes (elderly simulation) 45-60 minutes
  • Character Counts (multi session) 30-60 minutes each

Nutrition (Grades 2 – 5) (Grant funded programs preferably targeting 50% or greater free & reduced lunch audiences)

  • MyPyramid (2nd Grade – Available Jan/Feb OR Feb/Mar – 6 sessions) 30 minutes each
  • Food Safety/Germs (3rd Grade – Available Oct/Nov – 3 sessions) 45 minutes each
  • Food Budgeting/Food Labeling (5th Grade – Available late Apr/Early May – 2 sessions) 45-60 minutes each

Teacher Trainings (arranged with educator from outside the local office):

  • Anti-bullying Basics (understanding bullying behavior, prevention, intervention, and hands-on activities)
  • Effective Teambuilding (building trust and increasing communication through games and activities)
  • COLORS (learn to appreciate differences through personality profiles)
