Focus on: Science Siesta

Science Siesta is . . .

a science lesson disguised as a pajama party! In 2005, the Discovery Center Children's Museum and Burpee Museum (Rockford) hosted more than 175 girls, grades 4-6, for a weekend pajama party. Into the wee hours Science Siesta participants met women working in the science industry–an urban ecologist and a vet detective. They conducted science experiments, toured the museums and developed friendships with other girls from counties in northwestern Illinois.
