Master Corn Grower Contest

1 p.m. Patio

Local seed corn companies and the Lee County Fair Association are teaming up to find the Master Corn Grower in Northern Illinois. Adults and youth are invited to join this fun competition. Bring your tallest corn plant to the for measurement by the Corn Master. Corn plants will be measured from the first brace root to the tip of the tassel.

• $100 grand prize plus a new seed corn cap!!
• $50 for second place
• $25 for third place.
• All participants are eligible for door prizes.
• (cash prizes pending sponsorship of event)

Corn Husking Contest

2 p.m. Patio

Sweet corn is the best summer treat. How fast can you husk and clean the ear? Take the challenge. Team and individual events. Prizes awarded. For more information call (815) 857-2603. Register the day of the event. Corn donated by Del-Monte.

Corn Boil

3 p.m. Patio

Hope the corn huskers do a good job because the corn hits the pot at 3 p.m. Finish the fair with an ear of corn. $1.00 for one ear; $5.00 for six ears. As you leave the fair purchase a dozen or more to take home and enjoy—$3.00 for a dozen. Proceeds benefit the Lee County Fair Association.
