Exhibit Hall II

Check-In 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., Thursday, July 9

Exhibits Judged 9:00 a.m., Thursday, July 9

RULES

1. Exhibitor must be present with his exhibit during judging and be prepared to answer questions concerning his project.

2. All crop exhibits have to contain fertilizer and chemical application information, planting date, variety, plant population on an 8" x 11" cardboard sheet and this will be considered part of the exhibit.

3. Eligibility for entry in following classes requires 4-H enrollment in crops project.

4. Exhibits to be removed at 5 p.m., July 15.

5. Exhibitors can make only one entry per class. i.e. If an exhibitor is enrolled in Division I Corn, Soybeans, or Small Grains (no experience) at the same time, the member can enter only one exhibit in that class (Division I Corn,

Soybeans, or Small Grains). The exhibit should reflect only one project: Corn, Small Grains, or Soybeans.

Soybeans - Exhibit five fresh plants, representative of project field (include root system that is washed).

Corn - Exhibit two fresh plants of field corn, representative of project field (include root system that is washed). Popcorn and sweet corn should be exhibited in Classes 51405 or 51410 under Horticulture.

Small Grains - Exhibit one gallon of the current year's crop of oats, wheat, rye or barley.

Crop Display - Experimental or educational project related to one experience from your project. Include explanation for public understanding.

Clover Challenge: Crops - This class is limited to 15-18 year old who are enrolled in Clover Challenge for this project area. Exhibit a display illustrating the Clover Challenge area explored. This could include anything NOT covered in the project leaflets, including but not limited to career exploration, integrated pest management, global positioning systems, etc. The completed Illinois 4-H Clover Challenge Agreement must be presented with the exhibit.

County Project:

Hay and Pasture Production - Flake of hay from the current year, about 2 1/2 lbs. bagged or boxed or sample of haylage (current year) about 5 lbs. in closed container. Be prepared to explain topics relating to Rule 3.

Trophies will be presented to each class winner.

Plant and Soil Science

Exhibits to be entered in Exhibit Hall II

Between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., Thursday, July 9

Judging will begin at 9:15 a.m.

Plant and Soil Science 1-(It's More Than Just Dirt)-Prepare a display or poster that illustrates an activity from the project manual. The display should demonstrate an understanding of environmental and internal factors that affects plant growth. Include your project journalthat documents activity recordkeeping requirmenents, answers activity questions, and details personal thoughts and ideas.

Plants & Soils 2 (Stems and Stamens)-Prepare a display or poster that illustrates an activity from the project manual. The display should demonstrate an understanding of the composition of plants, the functions of individual plant parts, plant life cycles, and the ways plantsreproduce. Include you project journal that documents activity recirdkeeping, answers activity questions, details personal thoughts and ideas.

Plants & Soils 3 (Sprouting Out and Growing Up)-Prepare a display or poster that illustrates an activity from the project manual. The display should demonstrate an understanding of environmental and internal factors that affect plant growth. Include your project journal that documents activity recordkeeping requirements, answers activity questions and details personal thoughts and ideas.
