4-H Goats

RULES

1. Read all General Rules for 4-H Show.

2. Ownership dates: Kids and Yearlings not in milk, June 1; Milking Does, January 1.

3. No males allowed.

4. Dairy Goats and Pygmy Goats and Meat Goats will show together for Junior, Intermediate and Senior Showmanship.

5. All Goats must carry a Scrapie ID tag.

6. Meat Goat Wethers must have been born on or after Oct. 1, 2008. Wethers must have all milk teeth.

7. Meat Goats must be registered and tattooed in name of exhibitor only by May 15, 2009, ONLY IF GOING TO THE ILLINOIS STATE FAIR.

8. Meat Goat ownership dates for Kids and Yearlings not in milk - May 15, 2009.

9. Meat Goat Classes will be weighed on Thursday, July 9th to set up classes.

DAIRY GOATS

Kid born after January 1, present year

Yearling not in milk born January 1, 2007 thru December 31, past year

Milking Doe born prior to January 1, past year

Does 0 to under 3 months.

Does 3 months to under 6 months.

MEAT GOATS

RULES

1. Goats must be registered and tattooed in name of exhibitor only by May 15, 2009.

2. Ownership dates for Kids and Yearlings not in milk-May 15, 2009.

3. Wethers must have been born on or after October 1, 2008. The wethers must have all milk teeth.

4. Meat Goat Wethers must have been born on or after Oct. 1, 2008. Wethers must have all milk teeth.

5. Meat Goats must be registered and tattooed in name of exhibitor only by May 15, 2009, only if going to the Illinois state fair.

6. Meat Goat ownership dates for Kids and Yearlings not in milk - May 15, 2009.

7. meat Goat will be weighed on Thursday, July 9th to set up classes by weight.

RULES

1. Read all Junior Show General Eligibility Rules.

2. Entry fee: $1.00 per entry. Pen fee of $1.00 per pen.

3. Ownership dates Kids and Yearlings not in milk, June 1; Milking Does, Jan. 1.

4. No males allowed.

5. Dairy Goats and Pygmy Goats and Meat Goats will show together for Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Showmanship.

6. Exhibitors must be present to show animals or animals will not judged.

7. Exhibitor must place animals in pens assigned, or they cannot be shown. Goats removed from pens or from fairgrounds before 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, will forfeit all Premiums in the Department and will relinquish trophies or other honors received. All animals must be removed by 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12.

8. All Goats must carry a Scrapie Identification Tag.
