BARNGA...Where Everything Appears the Same
BARNGA places people in a situation where they actually experience the shock of realizing that in spite of many similarities, people from another culture have differences in the way they do things. BARNGA helps people learn that we all must understand and reconcile these differences if we want to function effectively in a cross-cultural group.
What's Your Type: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
Each one of us has a natural way of doing things. From taking in information, organizing that information, to coming to conclusions, each of us does this in a way that feels "right." We, as individuals, are also drawn toward either the external or internal world more than the other. When we use our "preferred method," we are generally at our best and feel most competent, natural, and energetic.
Realizing that there are no "right or wrong" psychological types, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a self-report questionnaire designed to make these psychological types, developed by Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, understandable and useful in everyday life. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator will help YOU identify your strengths and unique gifts. You can use the information to better understand yourself, your motivations, your strengths, and potential areas for growth.
Enhancing Personal Effectiveness Through COLORs
Matrixx System/Real Colors, developed by NCTI, is based on temperament/personality theory as researched and validated by Dr. David Keirsey. It combines Keirsey's experience-based research with numerous practical training applications into an exciting approach that is informative, insightful, understandable, and easy to apply in every day life; both professionally and personally.
Theory and research does not usually "reach out and touch" most of us. Through Enhancing Personal Effectiveness, the mystery of our own behaviors and personality becomes clear as we take a look at ourselves, and then relate that to the similarities and differences of others. Only when we understand, can we change. Thus, our magic and power are discovered in the "Ah-ha's" that provide us with clarity and understanding. This information becomes an invaluable tool for enjoying success in life, in our careers, with our family, and in personal relationships. It opens our minds to new possibilities and allows us to undertake workable new actions. It becomes a key factor in fostering increasingly good feelings about others and ourselves.
Team Work: How Does It Happen?
In today's world, many situations require teamwork. Teams are part of everyone's life. You may be a member of a family team, a staff or work team, a school team, or a community team. Often we are confronted with increasingly complex and multidimensional problems that require a team approach. Team Work: How Does It Happen? examines the stages of team development, the attributes of ideal teamwork relationships, and factors that promote and hinder working relationships. This program encourages people with complementary skills and competencies to coordinate their efforts.
Value of Strategic Planning
As individuals, we can analyze our present circumstances, review our current work/family/personal environment, decide where we want to be in five, or ten, or twently years, and develop goals to get there. One of the hard parts is making time to stop and evaluate our situation - and just do it.
In organizations - whether a community, a local government, a business, or a civic club, effective planning is more complex because it requires that we bring all our individual perceptions and experiences and visions to the process. Nevertheless, without a process to collectively envision the future, organizations become stagnant; so mired in the "trees" that they never see the "forest".
The strategic planning process depend on input from all of the people who are part of the organization; it only works if everyone who should be involved is part of the planning process.
"You don't have to plan to fail; all you have to do is fail to plan." ~Unknown
