What is FNP?

The Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program (FSNEP) is funded with Food Stamp Administrative funds by the Food & Consumer Service of the U. S. Department of Agriculture. We provide nutrition education programs and materials for Food Stamp and Women Infant and Children (WIC) eligible residents of Lake County.

Our programs are:

  • Handwashing
  • Basic Nutrition
  • Meal Planning
  • Preparing a nutritious meal on a limited income
  • Food Safety
  • Monthly and seasonal topics

We have provided programs at the following sites:

  • Waukegan Township Earn Fair Program
  • Boys and Girls Club of Lake County
  • North Chicago, Waukegan, Zion schools
  • Food Pantries
  • Head Start Program Sites
  • Catholic Charities Homeless Shelters
  • Right from the Start in Highland Park
  • YWCA Lake County
  • NICASA – Teen REACH Program
  • JUMP Start- Mundelein

We continue to reach out to Food Stamp and WIC eligible audiences in Lake County.
