Still Time to Work in the Yard

Even though we are getting to the end of October, there are still some things that can be done in the garden. Our warm fall is giving us more time to work. So here is a list of things to be doing in the garden.

Ø Finish that garden clean up. Cut back perennials. Pull out annual flowers as the frost kills them.

Ø If you bought bulbs and did not plant them, do so now.

Ø Start holiday plants like amaryllis and paper whites. They are available in the stores now.

Ø Keep mowing the lawn. It is loving our good fall weather and is still growing.

Ø Rake the leaves and put them in the garden as a mulch.

Ø Don't forget to clean garden tools before you put them away

Look around your yard and you will probably find even more things you could work on. Take advantage of the beautiful fall weather and get out into the yard.
