Don't Forget Your Summer Bulbs

As the season winds down and the temperatures start to drop, don't forget about digging and storing your summer bulbs (cannas, caladiums, elephant ears, gladiolus, etc.). Most of these will be dug around the time of the first frost and that usually occurs in October. Caladiums can be dug earlier. Cold temperatures will cause the leaves to lose color and that signals that they can be dug.
