He received his Associates of Science Degree in Social Work Technology from Glenville State College in Glenville, WV; Bachelors of Science in Education and Masters of Science in Physical Education (concentration in Sports Administration) from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. Prior to accepting the County Extension Director position in 2001, he worked at Knox College for five years in the capacity of Associate Dean of Students where he served as Intercultural Life Director,Chief Conduct Officer, Leadership Development Coordinator, and New Student Orientation Coordinator.

Tony is a Certified Diversity Facilitator and Intercultural Development Inventory Administrator. He was the 2003 recipient of Galesburg's Human Relations Award in recognition of significant and positive contributions to further the cause of human relations and promoting racial and ethnic harmony within the Galesburg community. In 2007 he was awarded the Distinguished Leader of the Year Award by Leadership Greater Galesburg; and Outstanding Vocational Community Service Leader Award for the first quarter of the Rotary Club 2007-2008 year. He is also a certified facilitator for FranklinCovey 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Signature Program.

As County Extension Director for the Knox County Unit, Tony provides leadership for program development and evaluation, marketing, volunteer and employee development, and fiscal accountability.
