Nealy 800 eighth graders from Knox, Henderson, Mercer, Warren and Fulton counties participated in the Welcome to the Real World simulation co-sponsored by U of I Extension and the Delabar Vocational Education System early in May. Youth were considered to be 25 years of age, single with no dependents and financially independent. Career selection happened at the schools prior to visiting the simulation and expenses were deducted from their checking accounts per their choices.
