The Kendall County Master Naturalist program is designed to educate and train a corps of volunteers to provide support in the conservation, management, and interpretation of the County's natural resources. The program provides science based educational opportunities that connect people with nature and help them become engaged environmental stewards. If interested, please fill out an application. There is a fee of $250.00 that covers classroom and field training, posters, handouts and the manual. Each Master Naturalist participates in at least 40 hours of training (see schedule) at the beginning of the program and continues with an additional 10 hours of instruction each year thereafter. Each year, the Master Naturalist returns 30 hours of service back to the local community. Please see brochure for more information, click on forms and downloads. NOTE: Classes meet every Tuesday, 6-9pm from April through June with 3 scheduled Saturday field trips for hands on training. Our partners are the Kendall County forest Preserve District, the Oswego Park District and the Kendall County Outdoor Education Center. Registration ends February 28, 2010.
