Achievement Night set Nov. 20
4-H Achievement Night will take place at the Plano High School in their old auditorium, 704 W. Abe St, Plano. This celebration is set for Friday, Nov. 20 at 7:00 p.m. We will be honoring all those in 4-H who have excelled in their recorded project areas. We will honor our 4-H volunteers. It's their time and effort that help make 4-H in Kendall County possible, especially this coming year with the State mandated cost cuts.
2008-09 first year 4-H members will be receiving their first year member pins; 12 youth graduating from the 4-H program will be honored; first time fair exhibitors for food and clothing; county records judging winners; special award winners; volunteer leaders and Jr. Leaders will also be acknowledged. Plan to attend to welcome in our newest members, say good-bye to our graduating members and congratulate all of our winning members. Please bring your friends and family too.
These clubs have offered to assist with the evening: Little Rockets 4-H Club- Greeters (arrive at 6:30)Pass out Winners Booklet at end of Awards. Outbacker Kids and Stagecoach Trailblazers
4-H Club - Setup & serve refreshments (arrive at 6:30 p.m.) 4-H Federation - Decorations (arrive at 6 p.m.) Barn & Beyond, Kendall County Country Kids, LaMenu Modelle, Millbrook Mighty Ones, Renegades, Rebels & Rogues - Cookies (5 dozen each club) and for Cleanup – All 4-H members, plan to stay just 10 minutes at the end to help us put the Plano High School Auditorium back to how we found it.
IL Farm Bureau Sponsors Award
The 4-H Premier LCP (leadership, citizenship, & professionalism) Award is sponsored for older 4‑H members in Illinois. The purpose is to reward members exhibiting outstanding leadership, citizenship, cooperation, and professionalism during the past 4-H program year (9/08 – 8/09).
Applications for this honor are due to the 4-H office by Dec. 1 so they can be sent down to the Illinois Farm Bureau. Applications are available from 4-H leaders or from the Farm Bureau or online at http://web.extension.uiuc.edu/kendall/4hyouth1891.html.
