09-10 Schedule For Leader's Meeting
November 2, 7:00 p.m. is the next 4-H Leader's meeting. We will be talking about fund raising opportunities, communication skills and fun. Network here with other 4-H leaders about forms, meetings, records, and even discipline. Help decide new rules and activities. Each club make sure someone attends. If you have program fee money, re-enrollment forms or club information forms, bring them. The 08-09 secretaries' books, audited treasurers' books are past due. Let Kim know what other forms you need, so we can have those ready for you.
Mark your calendar for our future Leaders' meetings: January 4 – Developing Leadership, March 1 – Records Training Follow-up, May 3-Fair Prep, July 6 (Tuesday)-Fair.
The Kendall County 4-H Exchange group met for the first time in early October. They are hoping to add a couple of boys to the group to make it easier to match with another state. If there is any interest in the 4-H Exchange program call Lynn Rott at 815-496-9258.
Exchange is a two-year commitment and youth must be at least 13 years of age but not older than 17 by Sept. 1, 2009 to be a part of this 4-H group.
4-H Federation plans year
The 4-H Federation met on Monday, October 19 to plan the year. 4-H Federation meetings are the held First Monday of the Month. All meetings are held at the Extension Office. 4-H Youth ages 13 and up are welcome to join. Call Kim Eisnaugle with questions.
November 12th – Officers training 6:30- 8 p.m. (arrive at 6 to go over jobs.)
November 20th – Achievement Night (6 decorate) 7 p.m. Plano High School
Nov.-Dec. TBD – Work on Dec. 5th workshop.
December 21 – Christmas Party Potluck, with $10 grab bag gift. 6 p.m. 4-H Office
January 4 – Do sponsor letters to pass out for Bowl-A-Thon 5-7 p.m. 4-H Office
February 16 – Sort prizes, make goody bags, work on Bowl-a-thon 6 p.m. 4-H Office
February 21 – Bowl-a-thon - Idle Hour Lanes, Sandwich – (Sunday) starts @ 9 a.m.
March 2 –Northern Ill. Food Bank, 6-9 p.m.
April 5 – Regular Meeting 7 p.m.
May 1 – Facilitate Fair Clean up Day 9-noon
June 7 - Regular Meeting 7 p.m.-Plan outing in July
The Kendall County 4-H Foundation Annual Meeting was held Monday, October 26, 2009, 7:00 p.m. at the Extension Office. Anyone who had contributed $10 or more between Oct. 1, 2008, and Sept. 30, 2009, was eligible to vote. In case of money given to a memorial fund, the representative was an appointed member designated by the family. New directors were elected at the annual meeting. If you are age 21 or older and would be interested in serving on the Kendall County 4-H Foundation, please contact the office at 630-553-5823.
The Kendall County Foundation helps to support
4-H programs; gives scholarships to attend 4-H camps, conferences, and exchange; sponsors many of the awards given at Achievement Night and some of the trophies at the fair. The Foundation makes a significant contribution to the budget of the Extension Unit. The Foundation accepts donations and memorials at any time throughout the year.
