Tolani Francisco is a wildlife veterinarian whose mission is to protect the health of animals on tribal lands in the United States. Students observe the behaviors of bison andlearn to take their own vital signs and then compare them to the vital signs of animals large and small.One lesson focuses on the digestive systems of humans and a cow. Students get to experiment with the process of digesting grass. Finally theystudy brucellosis and do some comparison analysis.
