Entomology

Insects! Insects! Insects! They bite us, they torment us, they scare us, and they bug us. Yet, insects are beneficial, are amazingly beautiful and have fascinating life styles.Youth will use hands-on activities to learn valuable life skills using insects found in the soil, on plants, in homes, on pets and in other secret places! Youth will learn the parts of an insect, collecting and observation skills, and about insect habitats. In the second and third books youth have the opportunity to learn about insect structures, how to pin insects, how to identify insects according to order,how to use an insect key, how to collect spider webs, and understand aquatic insects.

Instructional Materials Provided: One group activity guide and three youth activity guides for grades 3 – 12 are available. Helper's guide will provide hints, group activities and supplementary information. Additional resources & staff assistance available.
