Kankakee County 4-H Clothing Judging
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 17, 2009
Wisner Hall of Nursing, Olivet Nazarene University, was the setting for 4-H Clothing Judging held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009. 4-H'ers enrolled in Sewing & Textiles I, Sewing & Textiles II, Sewing & Textiles III, and Clothing Decisions took part in conference judging in the morning and Fashion Revue in the afternoon.
Numerous awards were given. Ten $5.00 cash awards, given by HCE (Home and Community Education) were won by:
Sewing & Textiles I – Construction & Clothing Decisions (5 awards)

Sewing & Textiles II & Clothing Decisions I (3 awards)

Sewing & Textiles III & Clothing Decisions II (2 awards)

A total of 3 delegates may be sent to the State Fair in Construction or Clothing Decisions from Kankakee County. They may be from any of the Sewing & Textiles I, II or III – with a maximum of 2 from Construction and 1 from Clothing Decision I or II areas. The alternates may also be chosen from any of the same areas.

Assisting with modeling practice for the Fashion Revue held in the afternoon were Tricia Coffman and AndyBasham. Decorations were done by Tricia Coffman and Andy Basham.
Three delegates may be chosen to participate in the Fashion Revue at the State Fair.

These people receive a medal, which is presented at 4-H Recognition Banquet held in November.
Volunteers assisting with this event were: Andy Basham, Janice Blanchette, Annette Colbert, Tricia Coffman, Jackie Boomsma, and Wendy Watkins. Assisting with judging were: Debra Bond, Lenda Hunt, and Nancy Zoller-Pansa
