River Valley Metro bus
University of Illinois Extension, Kankakee County, has contracted with STARadio (WKAN) for marketing rights to one of the River Valley Metro buses. The bus was wrapped with Extension business-promoting vinyl as it hit the road on March 1. "Our" billboard-type bus will rotate through all the Metro bus system routes...a mobile sign board for Extension. And...it has already caught the attention of area residents who have subsequently called the Kankakee County Extension office for help "connecting..." University of Illinois Extension to their lives.

Extension Satellite Office in Pembroke is a Reality!
Our plans for a satellite office in Pembroke are now a reality. We have rented an open library area and two offices in the Riverside Community Health Clinic, 3400 S. Main, Hopkins Park. We will also have access to a nice conference room that will easily seat 15 – 20 individuals for classes. The Riverside Clinic building is open four days a week. Our goal is that Kankakee County educators will schedule at least a half-day a week in this new satellite office. Then as programming opportunities build, more resources may be needed and provided. Riverside executives, clinic staff and Extension are excited for our new partnership and look forward to the opportunities to provide education to the Pembroke community.
