Volunteers are very valuable to Extension and especially to the 4-H Youth Program. In order to support our volunteers and help them "To Make the Best Better" in the 4-H program, we are offering the Valued Volunteer Program. Today's volunteers have greater demands on their time and 4-H is very aware of this. Valued Volunteers allows our volunteers to utilize a variety of learning tools to complete 6 training modules. Telenet, our conference call system, is being used to present the three required modules which are Risk Management, Program Planning and Club Communications. Volunteers will be able to select one of three presentation dates and complete the training in the comfort and convenience of their own home. Three additional modules are selected to make a total of six. Face-to-face trainings will cover Orientation to 4-H, Club Organization, and Experiential Learning. New enrichment modules are currently being produced to add greater depth to our training program. Volunteers who complete six training modules will be recognized during the 2007 Illinois State Fair in addition to our annual Recognition Banquet. Valued Volunteer name pins and certificates will be awarded to all who complete the program. Please call the Kankakee County Extension office at 815-933-8337 to register for this program. The State 4-H Office will send your class materials directly to you.
