How We Do It
Extension information is regularly provided to 17 area newspapers and on two radio stations with articles about agriculture and horticulture, consumer and nutrition issues and youth topics. An average of 17 media releases are submitted monthly.
107,600 Internet users accessed education information in 2005 through the Kankakee County Extension website.
Nearly 8,600 newsletters are distributed monthly and an additional 1,200 are distributed each quarter.
Nearly 500 volunteers advise, plan and conduct Extension activities.
Extension collaborated with over 60 Kankakee County agencies/ organizations to provide resources, trainings and workshops.
