4-H VALUED Volunteer Orientation Program Offered Statewide

A training program for adult 4-H volunteers will be offered statewide this fall. The VALUED (Volunteers and Leaders United in Educational Discovery) Volunteer Orientation program, covering topics like volunteer roles in 4-H, program planning, positive youth development, experiential learning, 4-H enrollment and communications in a 4-H club, is a series of six one-hour trainings in which new and veteran volunteers are encouraged to participate.

"Sometimes new volunteers are overwhelmed by the breadth of 4-H. The VALUED Volunteer Orientation program focuses on practical topics and resources that can be used immediately in 4-H clubs and local efforts," said Sheri Seibold, Extension Specialist for University of Illinois Extension's State 4-H Office. "This program helps leaders establish a solid foundation to provide educational opportunities that meet the needs of today's youth."

If you are interested in participating in any of these training opportunities, contact Deanna at the Extension Office by Friday, October 16.
