Service Learning

Service learning engages young people in actively giving back to the community and reflecting thoughtfully on the implications of service. Young people organize personalized journeys into service learning and discover their own abilities to make the world a better place.

Service Learning I: Appropriate for a middle school aged audience - Youth become "Special Opportunities Agents," as they follow a series of exciting activities that engage them in their community and allow them to reflect on their experiences. Youth identify community needs, plan a service project and execute their idea using the manual. A CD matched with the leader guide includes supporting materials and a Journal for youth to record their experiences.

Service Learning II: Designed for a high school aged audience - This no-nonsense guide engages older youth as youth leaders. Voices of real young people engaged in service inspire youth and connect them with others who made an impact. Youth plan and implement their own service project. A journal for youth reflections and support materials are included on the accompanying CD.
