Sara Hankemeier has been Extension Youth Development Educator for University of Illinois Extension Jo-Carroll Unit since March, 2001. Previously, Sara had been with Iowa State Extension for15 years in a number of different capacities most recently as the Education Program Director for Clinton County, Iowa.

Sara earned a B.S. in home economics from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa; and a Master in Educational Foundations from Western Illinois University, Macomb, Illinois.

Related to her work in youth development, Sara has made broad contact with a number of youth serving organizations and agencies since joining Jo-Carroll. Sara also has compiled and marketed to all area schools a directory of learning enrichment curriculum and program kits that are available free of charge.
