The council is responsible for assisting staff with the planning and coordinating of University of Illinois Extension programs. Council members assist in setting program/audience priorities, the delivery and evaluation of programs and the recruitment of financial and human resources. They serve as a formal liaison between the public and Extension. Time commitment is 2 years with an opportunity to serve a second two-year term.
Council sub-committees address specific program areas, such as natural resources, family and consumer economics, and resource development. Individuals interested in Extension programs may serve on a committee without serving on the Extension Council
