Culture Kits - Kits that are available for loan this year are Argentina mini, Botswana, Columbia, Great Britain mini, Poland #1, Turkey, Egypt, Brazil mini, Finland, Ukraine, Italy mini, China, Sweden, Guatemala, Austria mini, Croatia, India, Switzerland, Poland #2, Australia mini, Caribbean, Greece, Korea, New Zealand mini, Pakistan, Guatemala #2, Japan #2, Norway, Ireland mini, Denmark mini, Netherlands, Thailand mini. If a 4-H'er or a club would like to borrow the culture kit to use, contact the Extension Office to make arrangements.

Cake Decorating Workshops - there are two more cake decorating workshops that will be held. The next one is October 20, on the topic of the use of fondant in cake decorating; the other one will be held November 17, and will cover the use of gum paste for making realistic looking edible flowers. Both will take place at Naaman Diehl Auditorium in Mt. Carroll from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. For more information or to request a registration form, contact the Extension Office 815-244-9444.
Virtual 4-H Filmmaking Studio & Workshop - The workshop is officially launched and is located at www.4-H.org/curriculum/filmmaking. It was developed in collaboration with Montana State University. The Workshop is the online space to find tools and resources about video production and "how to make your own film". On the home page of the site, you'll find the main Filmmaking Workshop - an 11 module virtual workshop, geared toward youth interested in making Science, Engineering and Technology films. Additional resources will be added and tweaked over time.
