Section
Horse Show & Clinics - Approved protective head gear, with safety harness (fastened and buckled), is required by all riders whenever mounted. Helmets must meet ASTM/SEI standards. This will include showing in the horse show and or participation in horse clinics.
THANK YOU! - to the horse committee for conducting a very successful regional horse bowl contest. The team was headed by Kay Ferris and Bryan Hollewell. Outstanding job ladies. Six counties participated in the all day event. Good job!
Results were: Jr. Team - Carroll Boots placed 4th overall; Carroll Spurs placed 6th; and Carroll Ropers placed 7th.
Carroll Co. Sr. team placed 2nd overall and is going to state contest.

Coggins Test For Horses/Ponies
- All Illinois Equine 12 months and older participating in an advertised equine event - a show, rodeo, exhibition, trail ride, or horse fair, that is posted or media promoted - shall be accompanied by a negative test for equine infectious anemia/E.I.A. Conducted within one year. This includes horses being sold, traded, or leased within Illinois. Also remember that any horse taken over a state line must have a valid veterinarian health certificate as well as the above papers.
Sponsorships - The horse committee is asking all of the horse project members and anyone else who is interested to help in their efforts to start securing sponsorships for the annual 4-H Open Horse Show scheduled for July 12. Remember this is our only fundraiser for your many 4-H horse activities. All class sponsorships are $15 each. Forms are available at the office or online at http://carroll.extension.uiuc.edu
