4-H Club Attendance Policy - A youth that enrolls in a 4-H club/group, but fails to attend 2/3 meetings or give a talk or demonstration in each of their projects will not be allowed to show at the 4-H Fair. Be sure to talk to your leader to see how you are doing.

Culture Kits - Remember there are culture kits available to borrow. If your club or any 4-H'er would like to use the kit, contact the Extension Office to reserve it.

Club Reporters - Please remember to turn in your club report following your monthly club meeting to the office by the third week of the month. Or send your report directly to the county newspapers yourself. Each club needs to be represented.

Volunteer Supper - Leaders and volunteers had a good meal and lots of fellowship at the volunteer supper on April 12. It was so good to see many of the volunteers attend. If you missed it this year, plan to sign up next year. Also, thank you to Federation for their financial support towards the meal.

Congratulations to Grant Winners - I am happy to announce that the Savanna Smiles Club received a $150 Community Health Improvement grant sponsored by Country Insurance & Financial Services and provided through the Illinois 4-H Foundation Club Grant Program. They will be purchasing baby supplies for the Pitter Patter Pantry that serves Carroll Co. Congratulations!

Reduced Patterns Available - McCall's & Butterick patterns for 95 cents are available. Go to www.sewcoolinschool.com Our school code is 202042. Contact the Extension Office if you have questions.

National Volunteer Week - Let's hear it for our leaders and volunteers!! Celebrate National Volunteer Week April 27-May 3. Be sure to show your leaders just how much you appreciate all of the time and energy they put into planning, organizing, teaching, learning and giving of themselves they do - so that you can benefit from their efforts.

Volunteers are the backbone of the 4-H Program. At their own time and expense, they serve without pay and often with a minimum of parent cooperation, knowing that they are the necessities that the Extension Office and 4-H membership could not do without.

Here are some ideas for you to show 4-H volunteers just how much you appreciate them.

¨ Smile and thank them for their work.

¨ Give them something that you have made yourself.

¨ Send your leader(s) a card thanking them for their efforts.

¨ At a meeting offer to help set up and clean up.

¨ During the meeting be quiet and listen.

¨ Volunteer to help with an activity and then be sure you do a good job of helping without having to be reminded to help.

Way to go Milledgeville Hotshots!! - I'm happy to say the Hotshots have recently formed a Relay for Life team for the American Cancer Society and will be participating in the June event in Milledgeville. Good job!

Record Forms Evaluation Meeting - Tuesday, April 29, 7 pm, Farm Bureau Board Room. Interest has been expressed to have a meeting to evaluate the record and goal forms that the 4-H'ers fill out each year for records judging. If you would be interested in being apart of this meeting, please call the office to sign-up.

We will be going over what the 4-H'ers currently fill out and what other counties are doing to see if we can stream line the process. All 4-H volunteers, parents or older 4-H'ers are welcome to attend.
