4-H Records & Awards -
Before the chaos of summer hits, update those 4-H records and activity sheets. It will make August go much smoother. All county award applications and project records will be due to your leaders the last part of August.
State 4-H Tractor Driving Contest -
will be held Saturday, August 4, at the McLean Co. 4-H Fair near Bloomington. Participants must be 14 years of age as of January 1, 2007. For more information and to register contact the Extension Office.
Sheep & Goat Project Members -
Remember all breeding and market sheep & goats in Illinois for exhibition, must have a Scrapie tag number. Contact your local veterinarian for details. Tags are available at no charge from the USDA, call 1-866-USDA-TAG.
Talent Show -
The Stephenson County Fair Board is inviting anyone under 21 years of age as of August 25 to participate in their annual Talent Show. It will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 1:00 p.m. at their fair.
Jr. Division is 14 yrs old and under; Sr. is 15 through 21 years.
Entry deadline is August 6.
Contact the office for a set of rules and an entry form.
Wonders of Washington Group -
the group of 29 4-H'ers and parents are continuing their plans to travel to Washington DC in March 2008. They are currently working on two fundraisers.
They will be having a lunchstand on Sunday, July 22 at the fairgrounds for the Boots N Spurs Open Horse Show. They would appreciate anyone that would like to make cookies or bars for the stand. Please put 2 cookies in a zip lock bag and individually wrap bars. If you would like to help out contact the office.
The group is also conducting a meat raffle. They are raffling 4 quarters of beef and 2 halves of hog. Processing is included in the prize. Tickets are 1 for $5 or 3 for $10. You can purchase tickets from any WOW member or the Extension Office. Winners will be drawn Saturday night of fair week.
