State Fair Horse entries are due June 4th. State Fair livestock entries are due June 26th to the office

Any State Fair Jr. Livestock

Show exhibitor wishing to purchase people and/or car passes for the state fair need to place their order in the Extension Office by June 8.

State Fair Dog Show - Saturday, August 25, is the State Fair Dog Show at the State Fairgrounds in Springfield. Dogs with eligible scores will be determined at our county show, which is Monday, August 6th.

If you qualify for State Fair dog show and would like to attend, you will need to fill out the paper work immediately following the county dog show.

We also have a CD version of the State Fair premium books here in the office. Animal class entry forms will need to be printed off the web and submitted to the Extension Office.

Quality Assurance & Ethics - Just a reminder that any 4-H'er who is planning to exhibit livestock at the Illinois State Fair must complete the QA&E via the website prior to July 1. Horse must be completed by June 8th. Completion of the website certification will be good throughout your 4-H career. Website is http://qaec.outreach.uiuc.edu

Training pertains to exhibitors in beef, swine, sheep, dairy, meat goats and horses.

Superior Young Producer - Entries for this program need to be made with your State Fair entries. This program provides five $1,000 college scholarships in each of the five species of beef, dairy, horses, sheep and swine for a total of $25,000. The contest is open to any youth 14 years of age or older (16 years of age or older for horses) who are bona fide exhibitors at the Illinois State Fair Junior Show in the species for which he/she is entering competition.

Entry blanks are available at Extension Office. Complete rules and regulations are located in the ISF Junior Department Premium Book.

State Fair Jr. Department Advisory Committee - Youth & Volunteer - The State 4-H Office is looking for 1 to 2 volunteers and 2 teens from the Northwest Region to take part in the State Fair Jr. Dept. Advisory Comm. Youth must be a minimum of 15 yrs of age as of Sept. 1, 2007. If interested contact the Extension Office.
