"Management-intensive grazing (MiG) is a way for large & small producers, regardless of animal species, to reduce production costs, increase animal output and improve land efficiency."
· Excellent workshop for producers considering grazing or are relatively new
* How much forage do I need? * How much forage is produced per acre?
* What about pasture species & fertility? * What size paddocks are needed?
* How many animals per paddock? * Where do I put fence and water?
· Program focuses on layout & design considerations for a managed grazing system & also guides participants through a hands-on grazing farm example
· Select and attend either time slot:
o Daytime Option: 11:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. - Dairy & Beef Emphasis
o Evening Option: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. - All Species Emphasis
Workshop Location: Country Inn Suites, Rt. 20 & Dillion Ave, Stockton, IL
Registration Fee: $10.00 per person for light meal, refreshments and handouts.
Registration Deadline: December 8, 2005 (need a minimum of ten people per session)
