Created in 1964, the Illinois Water Resources Center (IWRC) receives annual funding from the U.S. Geological Survey and the State of Illinois, as part of a nationwide network of university-based water centers. IWRC is dedicated to research and outreach programs on water resources issues critical to Illinois and the Midwest. You can view IWRC's research efforts on the publications page.
Proposals Request
The National Institutes for Water Resources requests proposals to support research on water supply and water availability, including investigations of new sources of supply, improvements of impaired water to usable quality, conservation of existing sources, and limiting growth in demand. Up to $250,000/year for up to 3 years is available. The RFP is available at www.niwr.net.

Urban Water Management Call for Papers
Cities face new and continuing challenges related to water. Expanding urban and suburban populations place increasing demands on limited water supplies in the East as well as the West. Infrastructures are decaying. Pharmaceuticals and other chemicals impact stream ecology. Climate change presents new uncertainties. This conference is sponsored by the Universities Council on Water Resources and the National Institutes for Water Resources.
