Greetings from the President
Welcome to the Illinois Extension Agricultural Association (IEAA). IEAA is an energetic group of committed Extension professionals with interest in making Extension and agriculture stronger. Our organization is geared toward Extension educators and other professionals who work in agriculture, horticulture, forestry and natural resources, 4-H youth development, community development, administration, farm business/farm management, aquaculture and Sea Grant, and related disciplines. IEAA currently has over 100 members, composed of approximately half active and half life members. Our state organization is divided into four districts.
From the Association's inception in 1920, our overall direction has been clear:
- The pursuit of excellence in Extension education by professionals interested in agriculture.
- Protect, enhance, and promote the interests of Extension professionals.
Today, key membership objectives include opportunities for personal and professional growth. IEAA and our partner national association (NACAA) provide ample scholarship opportunities for Extension professionals. Illinois members have an excellent record in presenting programs, entering award winning posters, and receiving communication awards at our Annual National Meeting and Professional Improvement Conferences.
IEAA membership is a great way to be connected to your peers and to develop professionally. I would encourage you to look at our current membership list and contact a co-worker or myself to learn more about the IEAA. We invite you to visit and be our guest at a district or state event and look forward to your participation on the national level as a member of our organization.
