Food Stamp Nutrition Program (FNP)
The Family Stamp Nutrition Program is program dedicated to teaching and promoting safe and healthy eating for families on a budget. It includes education on basic nutrition, food safety, food budgeting and healthy lifestyles.
Topics often covered might be the "new" MyPyramid.gov, grain group, vegetable group, fruit group, fats, milk group, meat & beans groups, sugars, salt, physical activity, and healthy body weight.
Programs are available at a variety of locations including schools, Extension offices, food stamp offices, WIC sites, community centers, senior citizens centers, churches and libraries. This program is funded by U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Stamp Program.
