MINUTES
February 5, 2008

The meeting was called to order by Chair Tena Karcher. Members present were Cynthia Drone, Don Duvall, Tena Karcher, Lora Marsh, Charles Nolan,Greg Richardson, Carl Spicer, Debbie Webb, David White, and Nancy Winter.

Members not present were Mark Becker, Angie Brentlinger, Frank Douglass, Dennis Frey, Ranelle Hubele, Kay Mayberry, Jerry Seidel, and Dale Troyer.

Extension staff present were Judy Bingman, Renate Jobst and Darlene Waier.

Minutes from the November 2007 Council meeting were approved with a motion from Don Duvall and a second by Carl Spicer. Motion carried.

Financial report was approved with a motion from Greg Richardson and a second from David White. Motion carried.

There was no old business.

New Business

Darlene informed council members that the program review was scheduled for May 6.

Darlene provided council members with tentative county 4-H Fair dates.

Darlene announced that our next meeting would be breakout discussion groups by program area and Council input would be very important.

Council members were provided with Amanda Bennett's program report.

Judy Bingman reported that the Women's Winter Workshop and Issues Update were very well attended. Judy provided Council members with information about Kids Helping Kids and other White County 4-H and youth activities.

Renate Jobst explained her duties as Youth Educator and provided information to Council Members about various state committees she serves on. She told members she helped write two new curricula – Scientific Inquiry and Butterflies.

Darlene Waier reported that the HWW website was now ranked #9 on the state-wide Extension websites determined by the number of hits per month. Darlene organized and attended Ag Couples weekend, Agronomy Night and the Farm Technology seminar. She also coordinated Golden Age Farming that will be held throughout February. In addition, she is organizing the Teen Wellness Conference for all Hamilton County Junior and Senior High School students that will be held on February 15.

Darlene informed members that she has started working on the budget that will need to be turned in May 15.

Adjourn

A motion was made by Charles Nolan to adjourn. Second by Don Duvall. The next meeting is scheduled for May 13, 2008 in Hamilton County, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
