West Central Leadership began as a programming priority identified by local residents in 1994. Representatives from both the Monmouth Area Chamber of Commmerce and University of Illinois Extension saw a need to provide training and support to citizens as they assume leadership responsibilities for the economic and social development of the Warren and Henderson County area. Today the focus of West Central Leadership is twofold: to recognize leadership potential in individuals and provide programming to enhance their leadership skills; and to recognize current leaders and provide them with programming skills that will further develop their skills.
